On June 1st, Children’s Day, during the Generation One Exhibition – Art by First-Generation Asian-Canadian Artists, local artist Jose Antonio S. Tan will be giving a collaborative demonstration of painting and drawing at Vancouver Lipont Art Centre. Audiences of all ages will be able to work together with the artist to paint, draw and finish paintings on canvas.

About the Artist
Born and raised in the Philippines, J.A. Tan moved to Vancouver in 2006 and completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art+Design in May 2010. Since then he has had solo and group shows in Vancouver, Canada, Philippines, Los Angeles and Miami, USA, Beijing, China, and London, U.K. He has also been commissioned to create pieces for homes and offices in Vancouver and Philippines. He has also spoken at international conferences about how art informs his life.

J.A. Tan, a Vancouver-based visual artist, became a member of exclusive United Nations stamp design club when his artwork “Victory” was issued as a United Nations stamp last in April 2012. Chosen from over 200 worldwide submissions, his piece “Victory” echoes his vision as an artist.
